I previously made a scathing post on the postponement of the Israeli shore-based missile acquisition in favor of infantry protective equipment... i am giving the AFP the benefit of the doubt in this post...
Seriously, would you really need kevlar helmets, body armor, and NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) equipment against the MILF or the NPA?... of course, no...
The AFP is preparing for someone with a heavier punch... someone capable of inflicting heavy casualties on large infantry formations unprotected by kevlar helmets and body armor... someone with NBC capabilities...
Who else could that be, except... China!
In case a shooting war erupts in the Spratlys, Uncle Sam can easily provide the air and sea muscle... but will have limitations in providing a significant number of boots on the ground...
This is where the AFP comes in...
And based on the urgency by which these purchases are being made... the expected date of the fireworks show appears to be very soon...
The AFP knows the real situation,, thats their job and not the job of quack self declared military strategists who talked too much but never attended a military training and have zero experience on actual combat
ReplyDeleteAahhh... The classic "shoot-the-messenger" tactic... Never works on a well-informed audience... <:-B
Deleteibig mong sabihin nasa bingit tayo ng Nuclear o Biological War sa China?na 100% ang possibility na Gerahin tayo? alam ng kasundaluhan natin pero di alam ng mga pinuno natin? ganun po ba?
ReplyDeleteEven if they know... They will not be in a position to publicly disclose it...
ReplyDeleteA very interesting angle #West Philippine Sea, as it merited some of the logic in the canceled purchased of the missile system.
ReplyDeleteBut i would like to stress out, that despite the needs of our infantry to have a more modern force protection and NBC protection the need of the missile deffense is also as urgent. For the GOVERNMENT to cancelled such project that is already in thay matured states is not just impractical but also irresponsible.
Considering it os a big ticket items and remembering how slow we tend to smoothens out an aquisition specially big ticket ones.
We could have opt to continue the deal and then presented such a case for the needs of this force protection equipment in the congress i.e. ask for additional funds.
Then the question that lingers in me, why then did this NBC protection was not included in the ticket of items in the 1st phase afp modernization that stated upgrading AFP's Force protection equipment?
i think... the rapid completion of Beijing's reclamation projects drastically changed our role in the anticipated shooting conflict from defensive to offensive...
